Since I first typed that I was interested in buying a treadmill I have been shopping. I didn't want to buy new, because let's face it... I don't have money like that. So I have been shopping used. I have gone on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist... constantly... okay daily.
Well let me tell you about the treadmill market... IT IS SLIM PICKINGS. Well slim pickings for a quality one. I didn't want to shed a couple hundred dollars if it didn't have what I was looking for. I wanted something that the opportunity to have a high incline and high speeds. A lot of the ones for sale were for walking only. How do I know this? I looked up the brand and reviews each time one was posted. It was a lot of work but totally worth it!
I got a Nordic Track Treadmill. It is one that is on the lower end of their line but still has everything that I wanted. This one usually retails around $1,000... I got it for $150. WHOO! WHO!
Now about this treadmill... after finding it I asked my ex if he thought the treadmill can fit in my Kia Soul...
Yes you read that correctly... KIA SOUL.
He thought yes, I googled it for shits and giggles, and I found someone who fit a treadmill in their Kia Soul! I was like alright we can do this. We get to the person's house who was selling the treadmill and when we see it... I started having second guesses on whether or not it would fit.
We took the treadmill apart to put it into two pieces. We got the bottom half into the car with only a little bit sticking out of the back... when we got the top part off we placed it in the back and the hatchback couldn't even partially close at this point. Luckily we brought straps and bungee cords. We got the whole treadmill in there, the piece of wood it was sitting on strapped to the top of the car, and then made the trip back to the house. We took the back roads back because a 300 lb treadmill was partially hanging out of my car.
I giggled the whole time trying to get the treadmill in the car because I googled whether or not the treadmill would fit. It did... without closing the door and with bungee cords. The guy we purchased from was sooooo nice and helped us carry it out and load. Honestly the best experience through craigslist and restored some of my faith in people. Also he had the cutest dogs that I wanted to take home as well.
When I got it into the workout room I spent the next 45 minutes putting it back together. If there was a camera in the room it would have been comical to watch. The cat stayed in the room watching me with her judgmental face. Shortly after putting it together and taking a break because that was a workout in itself, I did a 30 minute workout on the treadmill. The treadmill lived up to my expectations! YAY!
